Have Your Say: Public Consultation on Part-Night Street Lighting in Oxfordshire

Oxfordshire County Council has launched a public consultation on its proposed Part-Night Lighting Implementation Framework, now live on the Let’s Talk Oxfordshire platform.

🗓️ Consultation deadline: Midnight, Sunday 6th July 2025

What is the consultation about?

This consultation focuses on how part-night lighting could be introduced across Oxfordshire – not whether it should be introduced in specific areas at this stage. A decision on whether to proceed with part-night lighting countywide will be made by the County Council’s Cabinet in September 2025.

If the proposal goes ahead, towns, parishes, and Oxford city wards would have the opportunity to apply for part-night lighting schemes tailored to their local needs, with public consultations held for each application.

Why it matters for Wantage

If approved, this framework would give Wantage Town Council the opportunity to apply for part-night lighting in specific areas. We encourage residents, community groups, and local stakeholders to take part and share their views.
