Wantage Town Council Encourages Public Participation in Market Place Consultation

Wantage Town Council is encouraging local residents, businesses, and visitors to take part in Oxfordshire County Council’s upcoming consultation on the future of Wantage Market Place, which launches on Tuesday 24th June 2025.
The consultation invites the public to share their views on how the Market Place should be used and improved in the long term. Oxfordshire County Council is seeking community input to help develop a future plan that balances the needs of pedestrians, drivers, market traders, local businesses, and event organisers.
Mayor of Wantage, Cllr Iain Cameron said:
“The Town Council is keen that our town should be a safe, accessible, attractive, sustainable and rewarding place to live work and visit.
Your views as residents or visitors are important in shaping improvements to our Market Place. I encourage you to respond to this consultation by the County Council so that future plans have had the widest possible input.”
Wantage Town Council fully supports the consultation and believes a shared vision for the Market Place, informed by the people who use it most, is essential.
